City College Plymouth Students Achieve Record A Level Results

A level students at City College Plymouth will be celebrating today after achieving a pass rate of 97.5%, an increase of nearly 2.5% on last year - increasing the already high pass rate achieved by the College over the past few years.

The  combined A level and AS level pass rate for full-time 16-18 year old students is 92% which is its highest ever. The average A level points score per student is also at record levels.

Over 75% of A level subjects achieved a 100% pass rate for 16-18 year olds, and nearly 62% of A2 level students achieved grades from A-C;, an increase of 4.5% compared with the previous year.

Phil Davies, Deputy Principal at City College Plymouth commented: “I would like to congratulate our students on achieving such fantastic results.

“Year- on  -year we have seen an increase in the number of students achieving a high pass rates, making us not just Plymouth’s largest A level provider but one of  the City’sthe main providdeliverers in Plymouth for providing deliveringof a high standard ofquality academic qualifications.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank College staff for all their hard work in helping our students to achieve this impressive pass rate.”

City College Plymouth is running an exams hotline from Thursday 19 August on 01752 305803.

Impartial advice and guidance will be available from the College’s Student Services team from 8.30am to 5.00pm on weekdays, with an answer phone service available at weekends.

The team is also holding information, advice and guidance enrolment sessions at its Kings Road site centre on Friday 20 August and Thursday 26 August between 10.00am and 2.00pm, and Thursday 2 September and Tuesday 7 September between 4.00pm and 7.00pm.
